Little Engineers (Ages 3-4)

Preschoolers aged 3 to 4 are in one of the most rapid phases of brain development. Their imaginations are vivid, their hands are busy, and they are curious, absorbing ideas and information deeply and joyfully. During this stage, children learn best through play that engages both sides of the brain, strengthening creativity, coordination, and early problem-solving skills.

At this age, children:

  • Learn through sensory experiences such as building, touching, and experimenting

  • Develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

  • Begin to understand patterns, shapes, and early sequencing

  • Practice focus and persistence through repetition and guided discovery

  • Build the foundations of social-emotional learning through teamwork and sharing ideas

How Robofun’s Little Engineers Program Supports Brain Growth:

Tell me about Little Engineers

Our Little Engineers program introduces Pre-K learners to building, creativity, and early STEAM learning tools through hands-on exploration and play. Our classes combine storytelling, movement, song and guided STEAM projects that nurture curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence. What is it?

In Little Engineers, children explore simple mechanics, design thinking, and early coding. Our tools include LEGO Duploand two other tools developed for pre-readers: ScratchJr, (a coding platform developed by MIT) and a robot called the Finch made by Birdbrain Technologies..  Each week, children build themed projects, such as carousels or construction vehicles, and art projects., Children strengthen their problem-solving skills through hands-on educational activities designed just for preschoolers.

Why is it important?

This class helps preschoolers develop spatial reasoning, coordination, and creative expression. By reading simple blueprints, identifying pieces, and designing their own creations, they develop early engineering habits of mind through planning, testing, and iterating. These skills support executive function, self-regulation, and confidence in learning, setting the stage for success in school and beyond. At this age, childrens’ brains are wired to explore how things work. Little Engineers channels that natural curiosity into creativity, focus, and early problem-solving.
