ROBOFUN SUMMER CAMP ROBOTICS is an exciting and innovative workshop that teaches science, math, engineering and computer literacy using the LEGO® RCX or NXT Mindstorms® Robotics system. Young people explore their unique creativity while learning new skills in problem solving, mechanics, spatial reasoning and much more.

Lunch and Recess (12pm-1pm)

Full Day students take an hour break for lunch and recess at a local park, weather permitting.  If it is raining, we watch short cartoon episodes as our break period or play a group game like "Apples to Apples" or "Pictionary."

Afternoon Session: Either Video Game Design OR Stop Motion Animation

(It depends which program is selected when you register your child.)

ROBOFUN SUMMER CAMP VIDEO GAME DESIGN is an innovative workshop that teaches math, computer literacy and basic programming methods using game designing software called Scratch. Young people explore their unique creativity while learning new skills in problem solving, creative writing, sequencing and much more. It is recommended that participants in our video game design program have at least a first grade reading level to enjoy working with Scratch. Student games will be uploaded to SCRATCH.COM where kids can continue working on their projects at home or show their friends and family. Parents will also be emailed a link to download SCRATCH at home. It is a free download.

ROBOFUN SUMMER CAMP STOP-MOTION ANIMATION teaches students to author, design and direct their own stop-motion animation. Students work in teams to write their script, create characters and design their sets for their animations. Each student will script, shoot and edit their short films. Families are invited to a final showcase of all projects. Students can view all of the projects completed during the course of the week online when they are uploaded to VIMEO.COM.  Only for students ages 9-12!
